This policy explains how 1001Web™ (“1001Web”, “we”) collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information when you visit maintenancegenius.ca, create an account, purchase a licence or use our services. It complies with Law 25 (An Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information, Québec) and, for individuals located in the European Union, with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Person in charge of the protection of personal information
As required by Law 25, we have appointed a person in charge of the protection of personal information (Privacy Officer), who oversees compliance with this policy and handles your requests:

Maintenance GENIUS PRO launch waiting list. If you sign up, we keep your email address, your chosen language, and the date and wording of the consent you gave. This address is used only to send you a single email on launch day. It is kept on our own server, never shared with a third party, and deleted after that email is sent. You can ask for its deletion at any time at [email protected]. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which receives a verification token but never your email address.
3. Purposes
We use this information to:
- provide, activate and maintain your licences and our services;
- process payments, invoicing and refunds;
- provide support and answer your requests;
- ensure security and prevent fraud and abuse;
- meet our legal and tax obligations;
- send you communications related to your account (renewal reminders, important notices);
- notify you, once, when Maintenance GENIUS PRO launches, if you joined the waiting list.
4. Consent
We collect your information with your consent, or where the law permits it (performance of a contract, legal obligation, legitimate interest). You may withdraw your consent at any time (see section 11); doing so may prevent us from providing certain services.
5. Profiling and automated decisions
We do not use your information to profile you, nor to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects concerning you. Any identification, location or profiling technology present on the site is off by default and is enabled only with your consent.
6. Cookies
The site uses cookies necessary for its operation (security, language preference, display preference). No non-essential cookie, such as an analytics or marketing cookie, is set without your prior consent. For the detailed list of cookies used (name, purpose, duration, third party), write to us at [email protected].
7. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the providers required to deliver our services, each bound by confidentiality commitments:
| Provider | Role |
|---|---|
| OVH | Server hosting |
| Cloudflare | Content delivery network (CDN), security and anti-bot verification of forms (Turnstile) |
| Stripe / PayPal | Payment processing |
| MailBaby | Email delivery |
We may also disclose information where the law requires it (a lawful request from an authority).
8. Transfers outside Québec
Some of our providers (notably Stripe, PayPal and Cloudflare) process data outside Québec, mainly in the United States. Before entrusting them with this information, we assess that the protection offered is adequate, as Law 25 requires, and we frame these transfers with appropriate agreements. For individuals in the EU, these transfers rely on the mechanisms provided by the GDPR (standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions).
9. Retention
We keep your information for as long as necessary for the purposes described, then to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations (including the retention of billing records required in Canada). Beyond that, it is securely destroyed or anonymised. Addresses on the PRO waiting list are deleted as soon as the launch email is sent.
10. Security
We put in place reasonable technical and organisational measures (encryption in transit, access control, logging, firewall) to protect your information against loss, unauthorised access or disclosure.
11. Your rights
Subject to the law, you may exercise the following rights by writing to [email protected]:
- Access to your information, and correction;
- Withdrawal of consent;
- Portability: receiving your computerised information in a structured, commonly used technological format;
- De-indexing / cessation of dissemination in the cases provided by Law 25;
- for the EU (GDPR): erasure, restriction, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
We respond within the time limits set by law (generally 30 days). In Québec, you may also file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information (CAI).
12. Privacy incidents
In the event of a privacy incident presenting a risk of serious injury, we take reasonable measures to reduce its effects, keep a register of incidents, and notify the Commission d’accès à l’information as well as the individuals concerned, in accordance with Law 25.
13. Information concerning minors
Our services are aimed at a professional audience (agencies, developers, site owners). We do not knowingly collect information from minors under 14 without the required consent.
14. The Maintenance GENIUS plugin
This policy covers the maintenancegenius.ca website and shop. The behaviour of the plugin installed on your own WordPress site (for example its GDPR mode, or its logging of blocked access attempts) is described in the plugin documentation and readme file. As the operator of your site, you remain responsible for your own visitors’ information.
15. Changes
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date at the top of the page indicates the version in force; significant changes will be brought to your attention by reasonable means.
